Dr. Nicholas Ekow Thomford is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Cape Coast Ghana. He completed a degree in  Master of Philosophy in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Ghana. He did his PhD studies in pharmacogenomics of herb-drug interaction in the lab of Professor Collet Dandara at The Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town, South Africa. After his PhD, Dr. Thomford was awarded a Faculty of Health Sciences and Harry Crossley Foundation (South Africa) research fellowship to conduct research into Latent reversal agents (LRAs) as potential activators of transcriptionally silent HIV. He is the head of PGMG, focusing on precision and genomic medicine particularly in pharmacogenomics of drug-drug interactions and genomic basis for diseases in African populations and potential therapeutic targets towards personalized/precision medicine. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and travelling.
